Disability Education and Awareness

Our dedication to fostering a workplace that supports employees of all abilities is strengthened through our strategic partnership with The Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen Engagement. We are committed to identifying actions and strategies that create a more accessible and supportive work environment for employees with disabilities. This commitment is reflected in the establishment of our Employee-led Action Committee, focused on disability inclusion, as well as our National Disability Inclusion Advisory Board, comprised of external leaders and advocates in disability inclusion.

Employee-led Action Committee Focused on Disability Inclusion

As part of our commitment to building a workplace that reflects a variety of lived experiences and perspectives, we established an Employee-led Action Committee in 2023 to develop strategies to enhance accessibility and support for employees with disabilities. This committee now consists of seven (7) workstreams focused on integrating accessibility initiatives across the organization in these key areas of focus:

  • Culture, Leadership and Data
  • Accommodations, Enterprise-Wide Access and Benefits
  • Recruitment and Hiring - New Hire Experience
  • Training and Education
  • Employment, Retention and Advancement
  • Vendor Partner Commitment
  • Markets, Community Engagement and Partnerships

CareSource National Disability Inclusion Advisory Board

In 2024, we established the CareSource National Disability Inclusion Advisory Board (NDIAB) to provide ongoing guidance and support to our Disability Inclusion Action Committee and continue to mature our approach to accessibility. Our NDIAB helps ensures CareSource remains best-in-class when it comes to disability inclusion by:

  • Providing honest feedback on company policies and practices
  • Mentoring and guiding the Disability Inclusion Action Committee and workstreams
  • Identifying and sharing best practices applicable to our organization
  • Sharing accessibility trends that may impact our business long-term
