Job Summary:

The Enterprise Quality Statistician leads, implements, and conducts analysis for quality and performance improvement and population health processes through the integration of quality improvement science and advanced statistical methodologies. 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the statistical expert for quality and performance evaluation, study designs, and analytical methodology
  • Support the Senior Director, Quality Analytics to conduct assessments using qualitative and quantitative methodologies and continuous improvement tools to identify issues and opportunities to improve health outcomes 
  • Gather internal data from various sources based on the needs of quality evaluation and improvement
  • Support the Senior Director of Quality Analytics and market business owners in developing quality analysis plans and implementing analysis and statistical tests
  • Design and apply statistical models to predict HEDIS rates and STAR rating for quality and performance decision-making
  • Assist with quality and compliance reports by collecting relevant data, analyzing and interpreting results
  • Use statistical techniques, graphics and data to summarize HEDIS analytical needs to measure impact of various actions/results
  • Identify and evaluate quality-related evidence and publications in the literature to support market business owners’ population health and quality initiatives
  • Assist in the development of focus studies using epidemiological methodology to target population for interventions
  • Conduct assessments to identify issues and opportunities using qualitative and quantitative methodologies and continuous improvement tools to improve health outcomes
  • Collect and review internal and external epidemiological data of specific market to support RFP
  • Design case-control, cohort and other epidemiological study to support quality improvement initiatives
  • Communicate findings from exploratory and predictive data analysis based on projection methodology to administrative and business leaders; design/recommend means to display information visually in clear, creative and compelling format
  • Perform any other job-related instructions, as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in statistics, public health, biostatistics or related field (e.g. health promotion, evaluation etc.) is required 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in program evaluation is required
  • Experience in epidemiological study design and statistical analysis is required
  • Previous experience in SAS and SQL is required
  • Previous HEDIS and health care quality management experience is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or managed care is preferred

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access and advanced proficiency in Excel is required
  • Knowledge of a variety of quality improvement methodologies – Model for Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma
  • Familiar with descriptive statistical application and techniques
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling and testing
  • Analytic skills for solving problems
  • Knowledge of managed care and health care data coding is preferred
  • Graphic development/presentation skills
  • Critical listening, thinking skills, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent writing skills

Licensure and Certification:

  • None

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time


Compensation Range

$72,200.00 - $115,500.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
