Job Summary:

The Vice President, Legal & Regulatory Affairs for ElderServe Health (ESH) is responsible for leading the legal and regulatory affairs functions for ESH, ensuring ESH compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, government program requirements, and governance standards while supporting ESH and CareSource's strategic business objectives. Serves as a trusted advisor to ESH executive leadership on legal, regulatory, risk, and business matters. Coordinates legal and compliance work with CareSource teams to help facilitate future alignment and efficient operations. Partners across ESH and CareSource to manage legal and regulatory risk, support ESH growth, integration, and transformation initiatives, and develop strategies that protect ESH and CareSource's interests while enabling operational excellence and long-term success.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and execute the ESH legal, compliance and regulatory affairs strategy in alignment with ESH and CareSource business objectives, growth initiatives, and priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to ESH executive leadership on legal, compliance, regulatory, governance, risk, and strategic business matters affecting ESH.
  • Lead ESH legal, compliance and regulatory affairs functions to ensure ESH compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and government program requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and coordinate key work/issues management with CareSource’s legal and compliance teams.
  • Anticipate, assess, and mitigate legal, compliance, regulatory, and business risks affecting ESH while enabling achievement of ESH goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead legal, compliance and regulatory strategy for ESH growth, business integration, market expansion, and transformation activities, ensuring appropriate governance, compliance, and risk management throughout planning and implementation.
  • Partner with ESH and CareSource executive leaders to evaluate emerging legislative, regulatory, and industry developments affecting ESH and establish strategies that support ESH readiness and long-term success.
  • Establish and maintain legal, compliance, regulatory, and governance frameworks that protect ESH interests and support ESH operational excellence.
  • Provide executive oversight and legal leadership for significant ESH business transactions, strategic partnerships, governance activities, and initiatives.
  • Represent ESH with regulators, external counsel, industry stakeholders, and business partners on matters of strategic importance to ESH.
  • Develop ESH legal, compliance and regulatory capability through effective leadership, talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Establish ESH legal, compliance and regulatory departmental priorities, resource strategies, budgets, and performance measures to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, ethical conduct, collaboration, and continuous improvement across ESH.
  • Perform any other job related duties as requested.

Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D) degree from accredited law school required
  • Ten (10) years of progressive legal and compliance experience required
  • Experience practicing in healthcare, managed care, regulatory, corporate or government program law preferred
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience preferred

Licensure and Certification:
  • Current unrestricted license to practice law required
  • Additional certifications relevant to healthcare law, compliance, privacy, governance, or risk management preferred
Working Conditions:
  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Travel is not typically required


Compensation Range

$150,000 - $300,000. CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
