Market Insight Analyst IV

Job Summary:

Market Insight Analyst IV is responsible to collaborates with competitive intelligence analyst team to gather business intelligence and manage research and analysis processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Researches a variety of health care related topics, including but not limited to, State Medicaid programs, federal and state legislative proposals and initiatives, new product launches, rules and regulations, RFAs, RFPs, and RFIs.
  • In collaboration with team, conducts and reviews research on industry best practices and formulates strategic insights based on research (identifies implications and opportunities for CareSource)
  • Research and monitor relevant health care markets and products to identify business models and best practices that support the organization’s strategic growth and diversification initiatives
  • Participates in cross-functional workgroups by representing department leader (when needed) and provides perspective on competitive environment and market landscapes
  • Monitor relevant state and federal legislative and regulatory activities and identify growth opportunities/risks that affect CareSource
  • Maintain an inventory and current status of all states serving the Medicaid, other governmental health programs
  • Manage the capture of information related to marketplaces, rates, managed care environment, competition, demographics, projected enrollment, etc.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of industry changes and health care landscape
  • In collaboration with Director, assists in the development of business opportunity assessments and business cases based on market analyses of financial feasibility, competition, regulatory requirements, stakeholder environments, and organizational readiness
  • Interact with the Proposal Team to analyze specific RFP opportunities, incorporate competitive information, create response strategies, and review proposals
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), public administration (MPA), health administration (MHA), health policy or public policy, economics or political science is preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of health plan strategy or business development experience in Medicaid, SCHIP, Medicare, Marketplace, and/or health care delivery through managed care is required
  • Business analytics background that facilitates an in-depth evaluation of competition, opportunities, successes, and strategy development is required
