Investments and Capital Markets Manager III

Job Summary:

The Investments and Capital Markets Manager III is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing overall investment strategy to achieve investment objectives, optimize benefit from externally managed portfolios, and support company growth.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and maximize CareSource operational relationship with Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), including membership stock and collateral maintenance, documentation administration, borrowing/advance administration, and FHLB affordable housing programs support
  • Oversee relationships with external investment managers, including development of investment guidelines, evaluation of performance and strategy, and periodic reviews
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on capital markets financing by identifying and evaluating financing alternatives to minimize cost, maximize capacity and flexibility, and optimize company capital structure to support growth
  • Liaise with credit partners, support debt issuance activities, and administer company debt portfolio
  • Serve as SME on investing concepts, financial markets, and economic environment by providing guidance and insight to internal parties, performing ad-hoc research,  conducting financial analysis, and developing financial models as needed to support company projects and initiatives
  • Develop, prepare, and present investment portfolio performance reports and income forecasts/budgets
  • Conduct due diligence and advise senior management on merger/acquisitions targets, affordable housing investment opportunities, and venture capital investment opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with regulatory and financial statement reporting requirements
  • Serve as advisor on company’s 401(k) Investment Committee, including optimization of investment line-up and evaluation of investment options
  • Establish and manage company’s relationships with brokers and custody providers
  • Maintain SAAS investment related software set-up/configurations (MPI Stylus, ICE/BondEdge, Bloomberg, Clearwater Analytics)
  • Administer affordable housing investment portfolio, including interest/principal payment coordination and tracking, performance reporting, and ongoing monitoring of borrowers
  • Recommend, execute, and monitor purchases of securities as needed to support regulatory deposit requirements
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, a related field, or equivalent years of experience is required
  • Masters of Business Administration is preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in investment management and financial statement analysis is required
  • Investment banking and/or portfolio design/construction preferred
  • Debt capital markets experience preferred

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge and skill in use of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in the use of Bloomberg Terminal
  • Knowledge of Clearwater Analytics preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including judgment/decision making, and the ability to work effectively with others at all levels
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently

Licensure and Certification:

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification is preferred

Working Conditions:
